Dear Ambassador Family and Friends,
Over the past eight years, it has been amazing to watch God literally build his church at Ambassador, connecting people into a Christ-centered community that is glorifying and serving God together. This serves as a great reminder to us that the church truly is constructed of God's people, living stones, not bricks and mortar. Yet as we've grown over the past years, we've also come to understand that a church building can be a helpful tool in growing Christ's church. And so it is our prayer that this new home for Ambassador will allow us to minister and care for our church family more effectively, to reach out to our community more purposefully, and to glorify and serve God in ways that have not been possible with our limited access to space.
Two years ago we purchased property and began working towards building our own facility. Over the past year, our building committee has been quietly, yet diligently working to assess our needs and develop a building plan for our ministry. Now is the time to put our plan into action. It's time for each of us to consider how God might use our giving specifically to provide what is needed to construct the new building. Yes, the task is great. But then again we serve a great God!
Over the next six weeks, we will be focused on Building with Living Stones, a concentrated effort to see how God will use his "spiritual house" to build a physical home that will serve to glorify his name and grow his kingdom. Our desire in this effort is not to simply generate enthusiasm and to increase giving. Rather, our desire is to truly seek God and his grace to work in us and through us to accomplish his plan and purpose for Ambassador Presbyterian Church. If that happens we are convinced that God will do more than we can ask or imagine.
As we launch Building with Living Stones, I ask you first of all to pray daily for the people in our church. Pray for our leaders and those involved in carrying out the building program. Pray for God's wisdom and guidance; for his protection and provision. And pray for his grace to work in your own heart to increase your love for him and your commitment to his kingdom.
As living stones, let us remember that we are united together by the Living Stone, Jesus Christ. It is only in him that we are joined together and it only by his grace and power that we are able to accomplish anything of lasting value. May he work in and through us in the weeks, months, and even years ahead to do his will both in our lives and in this church.
With great joy in the journey, I am your servant.
